Best of my love by N.D Jackson

DRE never returned to Emerald Creek after the man she thought she’d marry broke her heart. But a late night phone call from half way around the world brings her right back to her hometown. And face to face with the man she never thought she’d seen again. Summer in Emerald Creek was everything she remembered—endless festivals, picnics in the park and time with her best friend and her favorite little tykes—and Dre is finding it hard to resist the pull of the chemistry she and Erick still have.

ERICK made the biggest mistake of his life all those years ago but the result, his adorable little girl, was the best thing that ever happened to him. He’d done the right thing, or at least he’d tried to but his marriage hadn’t worked despite all that it had cost him. But now that Dre was back in Emerald Creek the universe had given him a second chance this summer, to put back together what he’d broken. To reclaim the only woman he’s ever truly loved.

Can one summer recall a lifetime of memories and rekindle a love that never really went away?

This book started out good, I liked how Dre had moved on after finding out that her boyfriend was marrying the woman he had cheated on her with and who he had gotten pregnant. I liked reading that she had made her money and travelled the world and had no strings attached relationships when it came to men and then she had came back into her home town despite it being ten years when she had left and what I didn’t like about that was that she had spent ten years enjoying her life and vowed never to come back home but she did and she found she couldn’t leave and then she met Erick who had cheated on her and then all of a sudden her character had changed and she practically forgave him even when his ex wife came back on the scene and he put his ex wife before her. I was happy when she ran off again and I hoped that she would go back to what she was like at the beginning but she didn’t, she went back to him and I didn’t like her dad either and if anything I thought he was a lot like her ex because her father had cheated on her mother. This story could have been a lot better if the h didn’t turn into a doormat.
